Saturday, February 27, eight students from Miller County Schools traveled to Albany State University to participate in the Southwest Georgia Regional Model Bridge Contest.

These students spent hours after school building their bridges to stringent specifications.

This year, an eighth grader, Elexus Heard came in first place in the Middle School division. Miller County Middle School was the recipient of the Middle School trophy and was awarded the plaque for this year.

Those attending the competition were Krystal Stovall, Brittney Morgan, Asis Goss, Tyris Bush, Mallory Diamond, Ahyla Branch, and Krinee’Jua Hamilton. Their sponsor was seventh grade teacher, Joan Broxton.
