Fifth graders enjoy visit from Mr. Carlton Thomas The Miller County Elementary School fifth graders have been learning about the Vietnam War.

Sydney Thomas, a MCES 5th grader, invited her grandfather to share with the class his story of Vietnam.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Mr. Carlton Thomas for coming to speak with us. He was a brave soldier in the Vietnam War and shared old war stories and a brief history on the country of Vietnam. He also shared his many medals of honor with us and even created a booklet entitled “Vietnam- A Country at War” for a keepsake for the students. After the presentation, he conducted a question and answer session. The students enjoyed the presentation and learned a lot. Thank you, Mr. Carlton, for taking the time to come and share your Vietnam stories with us!
