Mrs. Carol Meredith, age 71, of Colquitt died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, at 3:00 p.m. at Thompson Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Whittaker officiating. Interment followed at Thompson Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.

Mrs. Meredith was retired from Amoco Fabrics in Bainbridge and was a member of Thompson Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Tony (Barbara) Meredith, Colquitt; three daughters, Cathy (Jim) Matkin, Pensacola, FL, Susan (Garlin) Evans, Iron City, Jennifer (Phillip) NeSmith, Bainbridge; two sisters, Joyce (Marvin) Stephens, Havana, FL, Joan Neel, Quincy, FL; two sisters-in -law, Carolyn Meredith, Colquitt, Sara Cannon, Blakely; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sigo Meredith, and her parents, Willis and Marie Newberry and Venice and Trinnie Faircloth.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
