Havana - Three people are in jail after the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office busted a “meth lab” on Paradise Road near Havana.
Patricia McMillan and John Crumby were arrested on felony meth lab charges and Robert Earl Clinton on an out of state warrant.
The lab was what authorities call a “shake and bake” and is a simplified lab process using five gallon buckets to cook off the methamphetamines.
The bust came on the heels of a phone call received by investigators about the possibility of someone cooking off meth.
GSCO investigators arrived at the residence and noticed a female standing at the front door.
The female realized it was law enforcement officers and ran bak through the house and out the back door. She was later apprehended in the woods behind the house.
A male who stood near the back of the house as the chase progressed for the female was questioned by an investigator. When asked the man said there was a “live cook” of meth in the home.
In addition to the report, there was a strong odor of ammonia coming from one of the buckets (cooking.) In addition to the meth lab, the occupants of the house had by-passed the electrical main line and were using jumper cables and pliers to hold the wires together. The suspects have been charged with grand theft of utilities.
