Kids’ Day Out date set
Charles Grant and one of his little buddies at last year’s Kids Day Out
On Saturday, March 13, 2010, New Orleans Saints Super Bowl XLIV Champion Charles Grant and the Charles Grant S.A.C.K. Success Foundation will host the annual "Kids Day Out" in Grant’s hometown of Colquitt.
This event, co-hosted by Grant’s mother Theresa Warren, brings children from the surrounding areas together for giveaways, activities, and food free of charge. Those attending also have a chance to meet a number of NFL superstars who come out for the kids and Grant.
For the seventh year in a row, Grant’s S.A.C.K. (Sustaining Awareness through Community Knowledge) Success Foundation will invite children from the area to enjoy inflatables, rides, and sports activities as well as food and giveaways. Grant sees the event as a great opportunity to give back to his hometown community. “I’m always excited to give back to my community,” stated Grant, defensive end for the Saints. “I want these kids to realize that if the Saints can win a Super Bowl, they can accomplish anything in life because nothing is impossible.” This event is also held in memory of Grant’s late brother, Reneldo Grant.
Last year over 1,000 children attended. The park was filled with children from as far as Dothan, AL, and Albany, enjoying the food, fun, and excitement of meeting a hometown celebrity.
The festivities will be held from 9:00 am – 5:00 p.m. at James E. Merritt Park (formerly Milford Street Park) Top Road Field on Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Colquitt.
