Bainbridge College Presents Frightening Futures Film Festival
Bainbridge College (BC) will show a series of six films portraying moviemakers’ visions of “frightening futures.” These will be shown March-April in the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center auditorium on the college campus.
There is no admission charge for this series sponsored by BC Political Guild. The events, 2 p.m.-4 p.m., are open to college students and the general public.
The movies include well-known classics and lesser-known critically acclaimed films. Each will be introduced by a BC professor, followed by a question and answer discussion after viewing.
The series starts March 11 with “Children of Men” and discussion led by Dr. David Nelson. March 17 will be “The Matrix” with discussion by Dr. Michael Stewart; March 25 “Soylent Green” with Dr. Michael Kirkland; March 29 “THX- 1138” with Dr. John Vanzo; April 1 “Blade Runner” with Dr. James Snodgrass, and April 14 “The Running Man” with Dr. Patrick Smith.
The BC Political Guild is a student organization devoted to promoting the awareness, interest and active involvement of students in political affairs, as preparation for future service to our nation.
