INCIDENT REPORTS
Vehicle Accident
On February 14, an accident occurred when De Ping Wang was backing from a parking spot and came in contact with Walter Williams’ vehicle that was parked at the gas pumps. Contact was made when Wang’s rear bumper came in contact with Williams’ front bumper. Slight damage occurred to both vehicles. No report or visible injuries were made on scene.
On February 12, Edward Dewayne Kearns was traveling south on Highway 91 North. Kearns’ vehicle hydroplaned causing him to veer off the roadway onto the westside of the road and into the ditch, traveling approximately 150 feet and coming to rest on the east side of East Pine Street. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries and citation(s) were issued and reported at the time of the accident.
On February 17, Ashley Vontressa Benton was attempting to leave the parking lot. Charles Manuel Widner was attempting to leave out of the parking lot. Benton misjudged the clearance and backed into Widner’s vehicle. Benton’s bumper struck Widner’s front bumper, causing slight damage to Benton’s and Widner’s vehicle. No injuries and no citations were issued and reported at the time of the accident.
On February 20, Malcolm Horne was backing out of a residence and came in contact with Angela Yvonne Mitchell’s vehicle that was traveling south on Second Street. Horne’s rear vehicle bumper came in contact with Mitchell’s rear passenger quarter panel causing slight damage to both vehicles. No visible or report of injuries was made while on scene. Both vehicles were removed by their owners.
Damage to Property
On February 13 Officer Lonnie Wade was dispatched to Middle Street in reference to damage to property. Sharon Eafford stated that her friend, Nichole Burney, parked her vehicle at her residence, and when she left the residence, and while backing up to leave, she struck the water meter causing damage to the meter and made the water start over-flowing into the city streets. The damages were estimated at $100 and no cents. Statements along with pictures were taken, and the case is still ongoing.
On February 18, Tanya Lavinia Sol stated that when she left the Pic N Save grocery store she noticed damage to the rear quarter panel on the driver’s side. A small dent, scratches and a broken tail light were noticed on the car. Pictures were taken while on scene.
DUI
On February 13, Mikel Deon Wynn was transported to the jail where he was booked in and received citations for DUI and Suspended License.
On February 14, De Ping Wang received three citations for DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Damage, and Child Endangerment.
On February 20, Ray Armstrong received three citations for Speeding Maximum Limits, DUI, Child Endangerment
Peeping Tom
On February 18, Brandy Fetty stated that a Lanorris Canell Miller was standing at her two small girls’ room window looking inside. Fetty stated that Paige Edwards saw the subject as she was pulling into her home and called her to let her know. Shoe tracks were noticed at the end of the trailer; shoe prints were also on the hitch of the trailer. Pictures were taken of all the tracks around the area. Miller stated that he had walked that way, but he did not stop at the house. Miller was placed under arrest and transported to the jail. Upon arrival at the jail, Miller was booked in and charged with Criminal Trespass and Peeping Tom.
Disorderly Conduct
On February 18, Fredrick C. Hightower advised that he had an argument with April Rhunnett Reeves. Upon seeing Ms. Reeves it was apparent that an altercation had occurred due to her bleeding from the bottom lip. Reeves stated that both subjects had thrown punches during the altercation and that it was over drinking alcoholic beverages. Hightower advised the same story. At this time both subjects were placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to the jail.
Larceny - From Vehicle
On February 20, Fredrick C. Hightower stated that someone had taken his speakers and amp from his vehicle. The incident is still under investigation.
