Mr. J.T. Chambers, age 82, of Eatonton died Friday, February 19, 2010, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 22, at 11:00 a.m. at New Home Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Benjamin Miller and Rev. Walter Daniels officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Mr. Chambers was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist Church and a supervisor at Ford Motor Company, Hopeville Plant.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Roland Chambers of Eatonton; two daughters, Peggy C. (Bud) Allen and Susan (Buddy) Mayzes, both of Eatonton; one son, Darrell (Dianne) Chambers of Clearwater, FL; four grandchildren, Cindy (Brian) Hall, Amber (Bo) Hughes, Andrew Streyer, and Elliot Streyer; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Cross of Iron City.

Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Chambers and Curtis Chambers; and one sister, Vernice Braswell.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
