Colquitt Cleaners holds ribbon cutting
A large crowd of friends and family gathers for ribbon cutting. The grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Colquitt Cleaners, LLC and the Colquitt Landro-Mat was held Friday, February 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m.
The proud new owners, Brad and Leah Wells, were astounded by the number of community members who attended this function.
The event started with welcoming words to the business world from the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Martiele Pickle.
Mayor Jerry Chapman then expressed his excitement for the returning of the dry cleaning business, followed by Barbie Womble, chairman of the County Commissioners being ecstatic over the convenience of having this type of service back in Colquitt. Debra Atkinson from the Community Development Corporation welcomed the new owners to the business community and also expressed her exuberance for the new business.
Jewel Maddox, representing the Downtown Development Authority, stated the need for a dry cleaning service in our town and was thrilled to welcome the business to Miller County, also.
Lastly, Leah Middleton Wells expressed her gratitude for the opportunity for this new business and the chance to provide these services for Miller County and any surrounding counties.
The new ownership and management of the Colquitt Cleaners and Laundro- Mat expressed their motto, “Good Quality, Good Service,” during the grand opening event.
Even though under new ownership and management, a few friendly faces will remain a big asset for the Colquitt Cleaners. They were proud to announce that Sandy Stolze, Patricia Williams, and Bobbie Jo Glenn are returning to the business.
The services will consist of dry cleaning, laundry, wash and fold, pressing, and alterations in the near future.
The hours are Monday- Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The same day service is available; if garments are in by 10:00 a.m., they will be ready by 6:00 p.m. Colquitt Cleaners’ address is 208 West Main Street, and the phone number is 758-1990.
