Mrs. Doris Elaine Grant of Colquitt died Monday, February 1, 2010, at Colquitt Alternative Care in Colquitt. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Bellview Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Kimbrel, Rev. Mike Mounts and Rev. Ridley Barron officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Donald Brooks, Rusty Clenney, Jason Suggs, Ben Clenney, Tommy Wade, and Richard Barrow serving as active pallbearers. Visitation was Wednesday, February 3, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Mrs. Grant was a retired nursing home administrator and a member of Bellview Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, John (Jennifer) Grant of Colquitt; one daughter, Susan (Steve) Long of Colquitt; five grandchildren, John B. (Allison) Grant Jr., Heather (Brad) Shiver, Jinger Smith, Ashley (Brooke) Long, and Courtney (Eddie) Coppage; seven greatgrandchildren; four sisters, Gwendolyn Brooks, Elise Williams, Shirley (Edward) Kimbrel, all of Colquitt and Nadine Barron of Columbus; three brothers, Rudy (Carol) Clenney of Knoxville, TN, Randy (Dianne) Clenney, and Lavon (Sammie) Clenney, both of Colquitt; and one sisterin law, Louise Grant of Colquitt. Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Grant, and one grandson John Patrick Hicks.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
