Nursing Home News

Queen is Debra King, and the King is Hinton Merritt. Queen is Debra King, and the King is Hinton Merritt. Hearts, candy, love, that is what has been going on around Miller Nursing Home.

This past week we enjoyed having our Super Bowl Party on Sunday night, after having Mt. Olive with us for our afternoon service.

Monday afternoon we spent time making Valentine’s to send to our family and friends. Monday evening Mt. Zion Fellowship came to be with us.

Tuesday and Thursday mornings we played bingo. Mrs. Jane Wiggins read from “Grandma’s Attic” Tuesday afternoon. The evening was spent with the Joy Lighters sharing in song.

Wednesday morning Colquitt First Baptist gave our Bible study. We enjoyed coffee and doughnuts Wednesday afternoon for coffee shop.

Thursday evening we had our Valentine’s Dance. The dining room was decorated with balloons, hearts and streamers. The residents had a chance to vote for who they wanted to have as their 2010 Valentine Queen and King. This year our Queen is Debra King, and the King is Hinton Merritt. Our Queen received a crown, robe, and a bouquet of flowers donated by Blooming Business. Our King also received a crown, robe and box of chocolates. After being crowned Queen and King, they started our dance off with the first dance of the evening. Residents enjoyed having chips, dip, cupcakes and punch. Never say you are too old to dance because there was a lot of it going on Thursday evening. Thank you to the Posey Patch for blowing up our balloons and to Jonathan Widner for making us a CD for the dance.

James Judkins came to share with us Friday morning. Residents enjoyed sitting on the sun porch watching it snow.

The Blessed shared in song on Saturday, and as always we enjoyed having our friends and family visiting. We are looking forward to another full week.
