Top Awards Go to Bainbridge College Early County Student, Faculty

LPN Program Wins Four Awards at Conference

A Bainbridge College (BC) nursing instructor and a practical nursing student from Bluffton brought honor to the college’s Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program, bringing home the top two awards from the annual Georgia Licensed Practical Nursing Association Conference.

“I am proud to announce that Tammy Coleman, an LPN student at the BC Early County Center, was named Georgia’s LPN Student of the Year, and that Haley Harrison was named Instructor of the Year for Georgia,” said LPN Program Director Doris Carmichael, who oversees the LPN program at both locations.

Ms. Harrison was nominated by LPN students at the BC Early County Center, and Ms. Coleman was nominated by LPN Instructor Rachelle Andreu.

BC also received awards for the largest number of participants at the conference in Macon and for the largest number of student members. LPN students and faculty from both the main campus and the Early County Center attended the recent Georgia LPN Association Conference.

Hundreds of LPNs and Practical Nursing programs across the state attend the annual event for legislative updates, question/answer sessions with Georgia Board of Nursing, and networking with the state association representatives, Director Carmichael said.
