Ebony Dots & Dashes
The news of the week was sad. Had a call that Mr. Roosevelt Price had passed. His funeral was held Saturday, Feb. 6, in Brinson at Autiock M.B. Church. Rev. Cleveland Sanders officiated.
Mrs. Vinette Miller passed last week. She had been ill for sometime. She will be missed by her friends and neighbors. She never gave up, but kept doing what pleasured her. Funeral services was held Monday at Springfield M.B. Church in Baker County. Burial followed in Springfield Cemetery. She was a member of St. Mary M.B. Church in Miller County. She will be missed by those who knew her, and loved her.
Mrs. Gayle Grimsley had a demonstration from the past at New Salem F.W.B. Church on Black History last Sunday. No cotton pickers or peanut shakers, except by hand.
Mr. Lloyd Wilson, one of the former teachers in Miller County, is in the hospital in Albany.
Mrs. Gladys Moore is in the Hospital, Phoebe Putney, in Albany. If you can and will, keep her in your prayers.
Mrs. Vickie Dunnell, Ms. Georgia Jay, Mrs. Katie Smith and Ms. Katee Morgan went to Mt. Zion M.B. Church last Sunday after they had worshipped at New Salem F.W.B. Church. It had been many years since Smith had been to Mt. Zion. She enjoyed it, but was glad to come home where she could relax. The spirit is still willing, but the flesh is weak. All in all, it was a good day.
