Miller County Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) did it again this year in competition

This competition consisted of a 1-2 hour state knowledge exam. These exams are prepared by the state and administered by a proctor from the local school system. We would like to thank Mrs. Harriet Lane for administering the exam as well as the teachers and administrators for their support. The students competed in several different categories, such as; Pathophysiology, Biotechnology, Nutrition, Medical Math, Nursing Assisting, Medical terminology, Veterinary Assisting, Concepts of Health Care, and Physical Therapy. We are pleased to announce that 23 of the 27 students that competed also placed in the top 10% of the region. The top 10% of the region will proceed to the state competition, which will be held in Athens, GA on March 4-7, 2010. These students competed against many larger schools, such as Ben Hill Co., Colquitt Co., Cook Co., Dougherty Co., Grady Co., Irwin Co., Mitchell Co., Quitman Co., Terrell Co., Thomas Co., Turner Co., Worth Co., Lee County, Brooks Co., Early Co. and Decatur Co. Good Luck students at the next level.
