There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage and set it by the pulpit.

Two Brazilian soldiers killed
     The Dept. of Defense briefed the president this morning. They told President Obama that two Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq . To everyone's surprise, all the color drained from Obama's face. Then he collapsed onto his desk, head in his hands, visibly shaken, almost in tears. Finally, he composed himself and asked, 'Just how many is a brazilian?'

     Mrs. Lula Bell Anderson celebrated her 88th birthday on Sunday, January 30. Family and friends wished her well. I had a chance to go to church last Sunday. My faithful friends, Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Crankfield, took me with them to White Pond where their union meeting was held. The services were good.

     I am sending this to virtually everybody on my e-mail list and that includes conservatives, liberals, and everybody in between. Even though we disagree on a number of issues, I count all of you as friends. My friend and neighbor wants to promote a "Congressional Reform Act of 2009".

     My k ids are having a great t ime in the Upward basketball program!! Thanks to all of the volunteers who have given their time and talents to make it such a success. Apparently Barbie is pretty sure the BOC is going to lose the lawsuits and leave her broke since she’s telling Miller County citizens they will have to pay her qualifying fees!
