Mrs. Helen Dick, age 69, of Brinson died Monday, January 25, 2010, at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dick were held Thursday, January 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville with Rev. Mylan Brookins, Rev. Jimmy Dean, and Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Interment followed in the Oakview Church of God Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Greg Whittaker, Howard Whittaker, Dave Whittaker, Brian Brookins, Scott Brookins, and Anthony Brookins. The Oakview Church of God Prime Timers served as honorary casketbearers.

Mrs. Dick was born in Donalsonville on October 31, 1940, to the late Herman Brookins Sr. and Niza Newberry Brookins. Before retiring, she worked for a number of years as a supervisor/billing clerk at Three Notch EMC in Donalsonville, GA. She was a member of Oakview Church of God where she was an active member of the Prime Timers, a past president of the Ladies Ministry, a Girls Club counselor, a Sunday School teacher, a greeter, and nursery worker.

Survivors include her husband, John Dick Sr., Brinson; three sons, Jimmy (Myki) Cann on, Brinson, John (Brenda) Dick, Jr., Iron City, Chuck (Cheryl) Dick, Stockbridge; three daughters, Denise (Monroe) Bonner, Donalsonville, Cindy Trawick, Brinson, Terri (Howard) Jackson, Zebulon; two brothers, Herman (Nina) Brookins Jr., Chris (Barbara) Brookins, Donalsonville; one sister, Amelia Whittaker, Donalsonville; seven grandchildren, Brad (April) Bonner, James Cannon, Jason Dick, Shelby Dick, Morgan Dick, Bailey Jackson, and Nick Jackson; one great-grandchild, Cadance Bonner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Brookins Sr. and Niza Newberry Brookins; a husband, Larry Eugene Batchelor; and a granddaughter, Ansley Brooke Trawick.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
