ARRIE PERKINS

Mrs. Arrie Perkins, age 87, of Colquitt died Wednesday, January 20, 2010.

Mrs. Perkins was born June 18, 1922, to Brother George Washington Henderson and Sister Nona Reynolds Henderson.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She served on the usher board, president of the mission board and a member of Mt. Hosey Spring Creek Star Bethel Free Will Baptist Association. She retired from Miller County High School in June of 1982 where she was a dietary cook.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Archie Crews officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Bettye (Michael) Williams, Agnes (Charlie) Gilbert, College Park, Janice (Raymond) Sheppard, East Point; four sons, Willie D. (Rhonda) Perkins, College Park, Leon (Melba) Perkins, Lamar (Gloria) Perkins, Dennis (Elizabeth) Perkins, all of Colquitt; one brother, Johnnie (Thelma) Henderson, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 10 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dovert Perkins, two sons, Wayne Perkins, Sr. and Jerry Perkins.

Williams’ Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
