Nursing Home News
It is hard to believe that January has come and gone and that February is already here.
We stay pretty busy at Miller Nursing Home with our activities each week. This past week we started our week with Sunday school, and the afternoon was spent with New Salem FWB Church.
Monday morning the competition was rising as we played different board games, card games and we had our bowling match on the wii. The afternoon we had fun with Up! Up! And Away. Mt. Zion Fellowship was with us Monday evening, and we had our Unity Group to meet. The Unity Group offers our residents a time to get together in the evenings to play games, watch movies, and fellowship with one another. Our Unity Group meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings.
Tuesday and Thursday mornings we played bingo which is always a good time. Tuesday afternoon Tempe Praise Band came to sing for us.
Wednesday morni we enjoyed having Coach Ronnie McNease giving our devotion for the day, and in the afternoon Mrs. Jane Wiggins made apple dumplings for everyone.
Thursday afternoon was spent in our monthly Residents Council.
Friday morning we were blessed to have Rev. Earl Hallmon with us. He always has an encouraging word and song to share with everyone. Friday afternoon everyone was listening to see if they were going to be called to “Come on Down” for “The Price is Right.” I would like to thank Brad Bell, Pirates Cove, Wilkin’s IGA, Pirate Booster Club, Rita Glass, and Burnell Grant for their contributions to the game. We all had a great time, and we had some lucky winners.
We had our families as well as Scott Messer with us on Saturday. So you can see we were hopping this past week. A big thank you to everyone who had part in the activities last week. We could not do it without you.
We are in need. We are looking for a licensed hair dresser to come and do the residents’ hair. If you are interested or know of someone that may be, please give me a call at 758-4235. We all know how important it is to have our hair fixed. So if you know of someone that may be able to help out, please give me a call.
We look forward to and encourage everyone to come and visit.
