New Orleans Saints’ Charles Grant New Orleans Saints’ Charles Grant The New Orleans Saints are headed to the Super Bowl -- but without Miller County’s Charles Grant.

A veteran defensive end, Grant is now injured and has been placed on the injured reserve with a torn triceps tendon.

Responsible for 44 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks this season, Grant, the starting left end, will be missed as the Saints continue their quest for the Lombardi Trophy.

Grant was injured during the game against the Carolina Panthers during the second quarter on Sunday, January 3, where the Saints suffered a 23-20 loss to Carolina.

The defensive end player was having a solid season before the injury, recording 44 tackles and 5.5 sacks on the season.

Grant suffered a similar injury last season, caus- ing him to miss the last eight weeks of the season. This happened during the Saints’ win over the San Diego Chargers at Wembley Stadium, in London, England.

The New Orleans Saints will face the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday, February 7, in Miami, FL, at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Although Grant will be watching from the sidelines, he is still a large part of his team being able to play in Super Bowl XLIV.

Charles is a graduate of Miller County High School and the son of Ralph and Teresa Warren of Colquitt. Go, Saints!
