Colquitt's Big Guns’ Sergeant in Iraq

Colquitt native 1st Sgt. Jamie Crankfield, first sergeant for Battery B, 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, mentors Brooksfield, Fla., native Sgt. Joseph Beichner, the chief for a howitzer crew assigned to 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. His howitzer crew provided indirect fire support for a joint fires exercise with 1st BCT, 1st Cav. Div. conducted Jan. 10.
Sgt. Crankfield is married to another solider, Elanie Crankfield of Cambelton, FL. They have one daughter, Brianna, 16, and two sons, Eric and Jamie Jr., both 13.
Sgt. Jamie's sister, Linda Crankfield of Colquitt, said her brother has just come home from Iraq, and his wife is just leaving for Iraq.
Sgt. Jamie Crankfield is the son of E.C. Crankfield of Colquitt, and the late Annie Lee Crankfield. They had 15 children, and 14 are still living.
