INCIDENT REPORTS
Vehicle Accident
On January 2, Justin Coon was travelling east on Perry Street. Nicole Grier was travelling west on Perry Street. Coon went over into Grier’s lane and sideswiped Grier’s vehicle. Coon was found to be at fault for Failure to Maintain Lane.
Driving While Not
License
On January 3, Deanne Trenise Johnson was transported to the Miller County Jail where she was booked for Loud Music, Drivers Must Be Licensed, and Obstruction of Officers.
Burglary
On January 4, Kevin Scott Pickle contacted the Police Department in reference to a burglary. Investigators Rick Morgan and Kenny Kirkland arrived on scene and began processing the crime scene. Photos were taken by the investigators as well as other evidence gathered. A BOLO for the mule and trailer were given out using the information that was obtained o the items. The exact value of all items are unknown at the time of this report. The case is still under investigation.
Criminal Trespass
On January 4, Brad Shiver showed Officer Charles Griffin where someone attempted to force the lock on his shop door open. Shiver advised that entry was never made, and he had nothing missing for his shop.
Hit and Run
On January 5, Warren C. Spooner parked his 2000 Ford Truck behind Hardee’s and went inside to eat. When Spooner came out, he noticed someone had struck the passenger side doors on his vehicle leaving a yellow paint transfer. Two city workers, who were in the area at the time of the incident, stated that they did not see anyone hit the vehicle, but there were some state DOT trucks in the area.

On December 30, 2009, Officer Charles Griffin was called to make contact with Officer Scott Cleveland at the IGA parking lot. Officer Griffin was advised that an incident had just occurred between Joseph Sexton and Sid Shiver. According to Sexton, Shiver pulled a small black automatic pistol out and pointed it at him. Sexton told Shiver there was an off-duty police officer nearby, but Shiver advised he didn’t care. Shiver got back in his vehicle and fled the scene. Shiver was informed about 30 minutes later to meet with Investigator Kirkland to discuss the incident.
