EUGENE M. CATRETT

Mr. Eugene “Gene” M. Catrett passed away December 16, 2009, at his home at Elmcroft Assisted Living in Roswell.

Mr. Catrett was born in Decatur County on August 25, 1923, to Rev. H.L. and Nettie Sheffield Catrett. He attended McGee Conservatory of Music and received his D.M.S. from Gupton- Jones College of Mortuary Science in Nashville. He served in World War II as a flight dispatcher for the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1996 as funeral director for H.M. Patterson & Son of Atlanta after 30 years.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 21, 2009, at 2 o’clock at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel with Dr. Ron Bradley officiating. Interment followed at Arlington Memorial Park.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, LaJean C. Turner and David Noel Turner, Roswell; and grandson, David Eugene Turner, Greenville, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Leona E. Catrett.

H.M. Patterson Funeral Home in Atlanta was in charge of arrangements.
