Stolen vehicle recovered Stolen vehicle recovered On December 30, 2009, Lt. Dale Glover of the Miller County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 1682 Hwy. 91 North about a stolen Ford Explorer.

When Lt. Glover arrived, he spoke with Alisha Colwell who stated that her 2000 Ford Explorer was stolen from her residence. Lt. Glover took the report and entered the explorer as stolen. A bolo was also put out on the stolen vehicle.

Investigator Ben Nix was notified of the vehicle being taken. Nix followed up on several leads looking for the vehicle and found that the vehicle was taken by Christen Leigh Turpin.

Investigator Nix made contact with the Miller County Probation Department and was advised of several asso- ciates of Ms. Turpin and the location of where she might be located.

On January 4, 2010, Chief Deputy Shane Rathel was contacted by a confidential informant who told him that Ms. Turpin and the stolen vehicle could be located on Clyde Cook Road.

Investigator Nix arrived on the scene and processed the stolen Explorer. While processing the vehicle, the officer located a quantity of drugs in the console.

Corporal Mary Price was dispatched to the residence and transported Ms. Turpin to the Miller County Jail.

Investigator Nix and Deputy Rathel interviewed the subject at the Miller County Jail, where she admitted to taking the Explorer and also being in possession of the drugs.

Ms. Turpin was turned over to Calhoun County for the outstanding warrant. Nix also took two warrants for theft by taking of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
