INCIDENT REPORTS

Vehicle Accident

On December 26, Antonio Quentin Huntley was traveling south on MLK St. and went to cross over Main Street and struck Lance Carpenter, who was traveling east on Main Street. Huntley was charged with failure to yield right-of-way.

Marijuana/Fight

On December 29, Officer Scott Cleveland was dispatched to Grow St. in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, Officer Cleveland noticed a window has been busted beside the front door. At this time, Mr. Franklin Sidley opened the door. He stated that he and his wife, Ms. Paige Edwards, had gotten into an argument. When she started to leave, Mr. Sidley struck the window causing shards of glass to hit Ms. Edwards. While speaking with the subject, the officer noticed a small rolled paper cigarette believed to be marijuana. The officer could see several more in an ashtray on the table. Sidley was placed under arrest and transported to the jail where he was charged with two citations for possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.

Suspended License/

Expired Tag On December 29, 2009, Officer Lonnie Wade was patrolling on East Pine St. when he noticed a vehicle with an expired tag. After a traffic stop, Enoch Charleston Norris was charged with operating a vehicle without a tag and driving while license suspended or revoked. The subject was transported to the Miller County Jail where he was booked and held on the charges.

Obstruction of Officer

On December 25, Officer Hollis Smith was traveling down Holly Street when he saw Fred Bird walking under the carport at the residence. The officer knew that warrants were outstanding on Mr. Bird and called for backup. The subject saw the officer and ran back into the home, belonging to Tiffany Williams. Officer Wells arrived on the scene and watched one door while Smith went to the back of the home. Bird was trying to exit through a window and shut the window and pulled the curtain to and would not answer the officers. The officers advised the subject they would not leave without him and DFACS would be called for the kids that were inside the home. Both Bird and Williams then exited the house. Bird was handcuffed, and Williams was cursing the officers after they had told her to go back inside. Tiffany Williams was then arrested for obstruction of officer because knowing Bird was wanted, she attempted to hide him in her home.

Liquor-Possession of Underage

On December 30, 2009, Captain Dan Stone was advised that

Malcolm Horne was in the IGA parking lot drinking alcohol. The offender started to drive off and was stopped in the parking lot. The officer could smell alcohol on the person. A road side alco-sensor test was administered and revealed that the subject had been drinking. Also found in the subject’s vehicle was an opened can of beer and some that were unopened. Horne was transported to the sheriff’s office.
