Mrs. Lynette Sheffield, age 70, of Donalsonville died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Sells and Rev. Buren Womble officiating. Interment followed in Sheffield Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Brackin, Randy Newberry, Greg Newberry, Jimmy Johnson, Stacy Cox, and Brad Cox. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Hunt, Billy Joe Newberry, Jerry Mock, and David Houston.

Ms. Sheffield was a retired secretary from Amoco Fabrics, a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, and a member of the Women on Mission at Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Tim (Theresa) Sheffield, Blakely, and Jake (Kathy) Sheffield, Donalsonville; two brothers, Marvin (Marsha) Hunt, Byron, and J.W. (Patsy) Hunt, Albany; one sister, Margaret (Kenneth) Lowery, Thomasville; three grandchildren, Ryan (Jeanie) Sheffield, Heather Sheffield, and Trey Sheffield; two great-grandchildren, Devin Sheffield and Hanna Grace Sheffield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.T. Sheffield; parents, Cebren and Lucille Hunt,; and one son, Tommy Sheffield.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
