BC’s first Cohort of Paramedic Students Complete Studies, Share Spotlight in December Ceremony with LPN Graduates

The first cohort of students in the new Paramedic Technology Program at Bainbridge College shared the spotlight with Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program graduates Dec. 10 in a special ceremony at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center.

Paramedic graduates, who received certificates for completing their studies, have full-time jobs in their field. The first graduates are Bainbridge resident Amanda Cloud, who has family in Donalsonville; Dawne Harrell of Blakely; Colquitt residents Kyle Brackin, Kente Carter, who has family in Bainbridge, Amanda Garrett, Dennis Perkins, Angie Rathel, who has family in Donalsonville; Susan Grice of Donalsonville, who has family in Bainbridge and Colquitt, and Early County resident David Ingle.

Receiving LPN pins were Cherika Anderson, Ashley L. Glover, Calla A. Hartsfield, Amanda Loyless, Tanya Lyons, Brittney L. Singleton, Krystal L. Swain, all of Bainbridge; Regina Beacham, Latisha Collier, Shawanda Lee, Lakeisha I. Stamper, Delphine Wimbush, all of Blakely; Cheri Earp of Brinson; Bridget Cox of Colquitt; Judith C. Ferguson of Columbia, AL; Christina Borden, LaKisha Sherman, William C. Thomas, Julie G. Whigham, all of Thomasville, and Lisa M. Cumbie of Vada.

Students participating in the Dec. 10 evening program included Paramedic graduate David Ingle of Early County, who gave the invocation; and LPN graduates Christina Borden, who gave the student welcome, Lakisha Sherman, who read the closing poem, and William Thomas, who sang, all of Thomasville. Delphine Wimbush of Blakely led the Nightingale Pledge. LPN Club President Brittney Singleton of Bainbridge and Vice President Thomas presented awards to faculty members.

Randy Williams, who is Paramedic Technology Program instructor and coordinator of the Emergency Medical Services Program, spoke and presented the certificates to his students.

LPN Program Director Doris Carmichael presented the class of LPN graduates and LPN Club awards. Cherika Anderson and Julie Whigham tied for the Academic Excellence Award while Tanya Lyons and Krystal Swain tied for the Rose-Bud Award as most improved. Cherika Anderson earned the Most Supportive Award; Calla Hartsfield, the Teamwork Award, and Brittney Singleton, the Leadership Award.
