Ms. Mary celebrates 100 years
Ms. Mary Moody enjoying her 100th birthday party
Saturday, December 12, 2009, was a very special day for one Colquitt lady.
Mrs. Mary Ann Bush Moody celebrated her 100th birthday with a celebration at the First Baptist Church. The beautiful and special affair was hosted by her family members.
The honoree and longtime resident of Colquitt was excited to greet many of her Colquitt friends and a large number of out-of-town family members. These included her three brothers, her sister, three children, six grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moody is the oldest of five living siblings.
Music for the afternoon affair was provided by Emily Moody on keyboard and a marvelous vocal group ranging in age from four to seven, including Cate and Kinsey Momon and Gracie Kate and Caroline Beckham.
In keeping with the season, the fellowship hall was beautifully decorated. A bountiful supply of food was enjoyed by the guests.
At the ripe age of 100, this remarkable lady continues to amaze her family and friends by conversing with each of them without a bobble.
Mrs. Moody stated the highlight of the celebration was the fellowship she shared with her many family and friends.
She closed the birthday event with a very touching thank you to everyone who attended.
She says she is already looking forward to number 101.
Happy Birthday, Ms. Mary!
