INCIDENT REPORTS

Vehicle Accident

On December 6, Bebe Thomas was traveling eastbound on Phillipsburg Road, when a deer entered the roadway from the eastbound shoulder. Thomas could not avoid the collision, and struck the deer in the roadway. This caused damage to Thomas’ vehicle.

Theft of Service

On December 3, John Ricky King stated that the power had been cut of on December 3, 2009, for unpaid electrical bills at the address of Jesus Martinez. King showed Officer Robert Grier that someone had put two metal strips into the power connections, causing the power to return to the mobile home, but is not going through the power meter. Also the power box had a seal placed on it when the power was disconnected,; the seal had been broken. Mrs. Martinez stated that she knew nothing about what was going on with the power pole. Mr. Martinez stated he did not know anything about it, then stated that he had hired a person by the name of “Spooke,” to jump the power back on and paid him $50. An arrest warrant was issued for Jesus Martinez for Theft of Services.

Theft by Taking

On December 4, Billy Joe Newberry showed Officer Robert Grier vehicle tracks left in the front dirt drive-way and tracks of a 4-wheeler that had been pushed out from under a pole-barn next to Newberry’s house. There were also human foot prints found next to the tracks of the 4-wheeler, where it had been pushed from the barn. Chief Investigator Ben Nix was called to the scene. Marcus Newberry arrived on the scene about 30 minutes after Officer Grier arrived. Marcus stated that two days before, Rodney Johnson had been passing by on Three Notch Road in a white Ford F-150 pickup truck with an orange moped in the back. Marcus stated that Johnson turned around and pulled up in the yard next to the barn and asked Marcus what he was doing and Marcus showed him the 4-wheelers he had purchased. Chief Investigator Nix took charge of the scene.
