TALK TO THE MAYOR
Strange! Surprisingly, many of you do read my column. Stranger still, most of the reactions are about the personal things, not the political. In my last column, I mentioned some of the adjustments I had to make due married life, especially as it relates to sharing the TV. My wife loves the Lifetime Channel. For those of you that are not familiar, this network has one movie that they play over and over. They just change the actors. OK, maybe it's not the same movie, but it's always the same theme and outcome. Toni loves it. I'm not such a fan.
I recently spoke to a second grade class. After which, I asked if there were any questions.
Little Boy #1 - "Are you rich?"
"No."
Little Boy #2 - "Do you have a machine gun?"
"No, don't have one of those."
Little Girl #1 - "Are you married?"
"Yes, I got married this summer."
Little Boy #3 - "Where did you get your tennis shoes?"
"I think I got them at the mall. They're actually coming apart. I used some Gorilla Glue to fix them."
Little Boy #2 - "My Daddy has some Gorilla Glue."
"That's good. What other questions do you have?"
Little Girl #2 - "If you need some more Gorilla Glue, my Daddy can give you some."
"Thanks. I'll let you know. What other questions do you have?"
Little Boy #3 - "Where did you get the Gorilla Glue?"
"Moore's, I think."
Little Boy #2 - "If your machine gun breaks, you can fix it with Gorilla Glue."
"Thanks. I'll remember that."
Little Girl #1 - "I thought you didn't have a machine gun."
"I don't, but - any more questions?"
Little Boy #4 - "My daddy once fixed his tractor with Gorilla Glue."
"That's great. What questions do you have that's not about Gorilla Glue?"
Little Girl #3 - "My mama uses Elmer 's Glue."
Teacher - "Mayor, I have the last question. What's your favorite Lifetime movie?"
It's good to see someone reads my column. Maybe, people are just tired of politics.
