I almost had a stinking 'pity party'
I was going to a party last week. I think you might call it a stinking "pity party." For a couple of months, me and my "first wife" have had this hacking, nagging cough. She got it first and gave it to me. Neither of us had a sore throat or fever, so we just thought we would wear it out.

Tapped out
I never thought I'd be noticed for my dancing, but these days, my tapping is drawing comments from far and wide. Or at least as far away as the back corner of the newsroom. Unfortunately, none of the comments are good. And they all say basically the same thing ... stop!

TALK TO THE MAYOR
Strange! Surprisingly, many of you do read my column. Stranger still, most of the reactions are about the personal things, not the political. In my last column, I mentioned some of the adjustments I had to make due married life, especially as it relates to sharing the TV. My wife loves the Lifetime Channel.

Letters to the Editor
Dear Terry, I wanted to comment on what I have noticed in the last couple of years regarding our freedom. I don't think our children including my own understand what the price of freedom has been and what we are still paying for it. often wonder if they really understand what freedom means.

Ebony Dots & Dashes
Sunday was a good day. I was blessed to go to early service in Donalsonville at Live Oak AME Church where the Rev. Millie Ann Rambeau is the pastor. The minister pastor, Selina J. Elijah, preached a beautiful sermon. The people came out to church early if they wanted to learn more of Jesus. Came back home and got ready for church again.

LIFE IS CHANGING
Last week, I believe it was, I was listening to Public Radio. I listen to it a lot. I enjoy it. 88.9. is the station. There was a contingent of high school cheerleaders making a pitch for cheerleading to become an Olympic sport. I kid you not. I know that there is an enormous amount of time and talent that goes into what these people do on the sidelines.

••• Unbelievable President •••
This has got to be the most outrageous statement ever made by a public official, let alone by the president of the United States. And this guy is our "commander in chief." He is a disgrace. Here is his response when he backed off from his decision to let the military pay for their war injuries.

Putting your affairs in order
A woman went to her doctor. The doctor, after an examination, sighed and said, "I've some bad news. You have cancer, and you'd best put your affairs in order." The woman was shocked, but managed to compose herself and walk into the waiting room where her daughter had been waiting.

As You See It
Without elaboration, just remember that it takes a Carter to get a Reagan. Will someone tell our BOE chairman that he really needs to take off his cap when prayer is given and the National Anthem is played at the ball games? Early Saturday morning during the search I heard our deputies and our elected sheriff out looking.

BHO riddle
Barack Obama meets with the Queen of England. He asks her, "Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips you can give to me?" "Well," says the Queen, "the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people.
