A Miller County man, who law enforcement officers say attempted to kidnap his ex-wife and escaped from a patrol car, was back under arrest Saturday, November 14.

According to reports, Mark Roland of Colquitt was being sought by Seminole County law enforcement in a search spanning Miller and Seminole counties. Miller, Seminole and Decatur county sheriffs and law enforcement officers arrested the suspect twice.

The victim's mother called 911 after hearing her daughter screaming while being kidnapped by her exhusband. Mark Roland fled to Miller County where an officer arrested him at his parents' home, and he was cuffed and placed in the rear of the sheriff deputy's auto. The deputy went into the house to pick up evidence, and Roland kicked the back window out and escaped.

The second Saturday morning manhunt included sheriff's and deputies from Miller, Seminole and Decatur counties, GBI, and blood hounds from Appalachee Correctional Institute in Florida searching for 49-year-old Mark Roland in Miller County. The dogs trailed Roland, who was found around Aycock Creek.

Sheriff's reports stated that Roland's ex-wife suffered only minor injuries to her face, and those involved in the case are glad the search resulted in an arrest. Roland had been served with a restraining order on Friday.

The Seminole Sheriff's Department says Roland had been charged and convicted prior to this incident on felony charges. Some of the charges dealt with drugs.

It is also reported that Roland was recently released from a detention center in Cedertown just two weeks ago.

Roland has been charged in Seminole County with stalking, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. Other charges are pending. The suspect is currently being held in the Seminole County Jail.

Roland will be charged with escape, felony obstruction of an officer and felony criminal damage to government property in Miller County, according to Sheriff H.E. Glass.
