Pirates advance to second round of playoffs
The first round of GHSA Class-A Play-0ffs for the #2 seed Miller County Pirates was a win over Brookstone Cougars from Columbus, 33-26. Pirate captains were Shawndre Sheffield, Cosby Salters, Zenario Shuler, and Dylan Spurlock and for the Cougars Brian Vogler, Jasper Mason, Andrew Carroll, and Milton McCluskey. Kidnap suspect arrested twice

A Miller County man, who law enforcement officers say attempted to kidnap his ex-wife and escaped from a patrol car, was back under arrest Saturday, November 14. According to reports, Mark Roland of Colquitt was being sought by Seminole County law enforcement in a search spanning Miller and Seminole counties. More...
