RUTH CLINTON LAMBERT
Mrs. Ruth Clinton Lambert, age 90, passed away Friday, October 23, 2009.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 25, at 2:00 p.m. at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Pisgah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Garrett Rice, Jimmy Holcher, Eric Floyd, Russell Floyd, Bejon Anvar, Wesley Roland, Tony Christopher, Wes Lambert, and Mike Rice.
Mrs. Lambert was born September 26, 1919, in Bainbridge to the now late Alex and Lela Jowers Clinton. She was married to the late Willie Lester Lambert, and was a member of West St. Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, a member of the Port City Modulators (a CB radio club), and was a Native American descendant of the Creek Nation. She is survived by two daughters; Juanita (Buddy) Griffin, Bainbridge, and Linda L. Jennings and Roger Wilson, Climax; three sons, Ronnie Lambert, Leonard Lambert, Bainbridge, Terry (Joyce)Lambert, Brinson; two sisters, Pat Carroll and Ann Clenney, Tallahassee, FL; one brother, Earl Clinton of Bainbridge; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lambert was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children, Faye and Hermie Lambert; siblings, Mildred Thornton, Mary Price, Alex Clinton Jr., G.W. Clinton, Ossie Mae Bass, Frank Bass, Porter Webb Bass, and Odessa Kelly.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
