EDWARD E. SWAIN
Funeral services for Mr. Edward E. Swain, age 59, of Donalsonville, were held Thursday October 15, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Interment followed at FT. Mitchell National Cemetery near Columbus at 2:30 p.m. EST with full military honors.
Mr. Swain passed away Monday, October 12, 2009, at his residence. He was born in Medart, FL, the son of the now late James W. and Lorine Harrell Swain. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army, a veteran of Vietnam where he received two Purple Hearts and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He had lived in Seminole County for six years moving from Hahira.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Donna Hoxworth Swain of Donalsonville; four daughters, Heather Robison and husband Bobby of Spring Creek, FL, Jennifer Swain of Crawfordville, FL, Crystal Vertrees of Panama City, FL, and June Swain of Donalsonville; four sons, Edward Swain II of Donalsonville, Kyle Swain of Tallahassee, FL, Shane Fisher and wife Cassy of Altha, FL, and Brandon Swain of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers Walter Durrance of Sopchoppy, FL, and R. D. Swain of Valdosta; four sisters, Debbie Swain of Thomasville, Cathy Stanaland of Cairo, Mary Ann Linsley of Thomasville and Marie Stringer of Tallahassee, FL, and 10 grandchildren.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
