If we had one day to live

by Terry Toole

One of the one day blooms taken this week. One of the one day blooms taken this week. Several years ago, I lost my mind for a few minutes and bought a hibiscus tree and placed it in front of the Liberal office. I enjoy growing things like tomatoes, lemons, oranges, pecans, kumquats, blueberries and trees and bushes that grow something to eat. I am not too much on looks, but more on taste.

The hibiscus tree was not too big, but looked good. Over the years, it has bloomed itself almost to death.

When we had a storm last year, it got blown down Main Street, and it was broken up and split pretty badly. I patched it with bag ties and one of first wife's old stockings. I didn't think it would make it, but it did. I have to haul water to it and don't take too good care of it. The blooms last one day.

If we had just one day to do something, wouldn't it be wonderful if we could do it this well?
