Blountstown - A single vehicle crash on a rainy Monday morning has claimed the life of a Blounstown native.

Debroah Clark Daniels, 51, of Grand Ridge was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Daniels was northbound on SR 69 just north of Jody Field Road in Calhoun County around 9:25 a.m. For unknown reasons, she lost control of her 2009 Pontiac, and the vehicle began rotating counter-clockwise, crossed the southbound lane and entered the west shoulder. The right side and undercarriage of the car collided with the west ditch embankment. The car then overturned and struck two pine trees.

It took rescue workers over an hour to remove her from the wreckage.

Cairo - Someone put forth a lot of effort with zero return last week when they tried to burglarize a Pine Park convenience store by digging through a cement block wall.

The unknown male did manage to knock a hole through the rear wall of Quick Buys on U.S. Highway in Pine Park early Friday morning. The hole, a few feet from ground level, was just the amount of space needed for the culprit to squeeze inside the store's utility room.

Surveillance camera video shows a single person crawling along the floor inside the business towards the counter but then leaving emptyhanded.

An alarm alerted officers with the Grady County Sheriff's Office around 1 a.m. Friday, but when they arrived the store appeared secure. Once a store manager arrived, the officers entered the building and found the damage.

Although the security video indicates the perpetrator was a male, officers have been unable to determine further descriptive details.

Dawson - Authorities have recovered a John Deere 8410 model tractor in Telfair County that had been reported stolen from here last month, Terrell County Sheriff John Bowens reported this week.

The tractor's owner, Grady T. Hatcher, of a Leesburg address, reported the tractor, along with other farm related items and equipment, were discovered missing from his shop on September 14.

According to Sheriff Bowens, he received a call from Telfair authorities last Thursday notifying him of the tractor's whereabouts.

"Telfair deputies during their routine patrols saw the tractor parked on the side of the road, and apparently thought the tractor had a mechanical problem. After a couple of days, and the tractor had not been moved, law officers attempted to verify its owner through the serial number, and it came back reported as stolen from Terrell County. "Apparently no one touched the tractor once it had been parked on the side of the road until deputies were trying to find out its owner," said Telfair deputies.

The case is still under investigation.
