SGA Wins in the Chula Dome

The SGA Warriors traveled to Chula last Friday night to take on the Tiftarea Panthers. This game was the beginning of region play for both teams. The Warriors won 35 to 26, giving them a leg up in Region 3-AA. This was a big game for the Warriors, and they came out ready to play from the very first snap. The Warrior ground game accounted for 276 yards, most of which came from junior Taylor Tabb and senior Nile Knapp. Tabb had 10 carries for 115 yards and two touchdowns, one being an electrifying 52- yard run to finish off the scoring for Warriors. He also had one catch for a 29 yard touchdown. Knapp had 95 yards on 27 carries and one touchdown and had two catches for 7 yards. Senior Andrew Stone went 6 for 7 with 104 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a fumble recovery (one of two by the SGA defense) and the game clinching interception. He also accounted for 35 yards on 4 carries. Senior Weston Lee had 28 yards on 5 carries and had an interception on defense before injuring his right shoulder late in the game. Senior TE Danny Doster caught 2 passes for 59 yards and one 29 yard touchdown reception. Cody Buckhaulter also had one catch for 9 yards. The Warriors play host to the Windsor Knights this Friday at 7:30.
