And the winner is-----

In times of need, there's no place like Colquitt.

Recently, friends of Captain Dan Stone of the Colquitt Police Department wanted to do something to help him and his family. His wife, Angela, had been diagnosed with cancer and friends knew the medical expenses were putting a strain on the family. Tickets were sold for a chance to win a shotgun, lunch for two at the Tarrer and lunch for two at Moby Dick.

The drawings were held on Friday, August 28, and the first place winner was Marty Kelley Sr. He was the winner of a pump action shotgun.

Winning the second place, lunch for two the Tarrer, was Henry Worsley, and winning third place, lunch for two at Moby Dick, was Terry Pickle.

Angela passed away on Sunday, August 9, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

Captain Stone would like to thank the people of Colquitt and Miller County for their generous donations and for their prayers during Angela's illness.
