Mrs. Shannon Michelle Maddox Stokes, age 34, of Iron City passed away Friday, August 21, 2009, at her residence.

Shannon was born in Pensacola, FL, on April 26, 1975, to the late William Robert Maddox and Sharon Bryant Maddox. She was a homemaker.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, August 26, at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Evans- Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. A private family interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Wayne Stokes Sr., Iron City; two sons, Jerry Stokes Jr. and Jeremy Stokes, Iron City; mother, Sharon Newberry and husband, Stephen, Iron City; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Maddox, Dothan, AL; three brothers, John Maddox, Donalsonville, Robert Maddox, Ashford, AL, and Terry Newberry, Donalsonville; and several other relatives survive.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Robert Maddox.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
