Elective officers meet on COC "New" Policy

The Miller County Board of Commissioners have given all officers and departments in the county the ultimatum to sign on to the "New Personnel Policies and Procedures, or lose benefits.

The elected officers of the county met and came to the conclusions that they could not sign the "new" policy that would take over the hiring and firing of those working in their offices.

The only department that must be under the "new" $60,000.00 policy and $30,000.00 time-keeping devices is the commissioner's office and the road department.

A heated discussion took place Monday night at the regular board meeting, and it was suggest that a committee be formed.

The policy was/is to become effective July 1, 2009.

More next week!
