The Taylor-Perkins-Davis family reunion was held last week in Orlando, FL. The clan started to arrive in Orlando on Tuesday. They came from the north, south, east and west. The Miller County bunch left Colquitt on Thursday morning and drove down. Their trip down was pleasant and uneventful. Thank you, God.

Mrs. Katie Smith, Mrs. Gwen Lane, Ms. Linda Lane, and Ms. Kathy Lane were the only Miller Countians. But we represented the family well.

We arrived in Orlando late afternoon, and the greetings began. I saw kin that I hadn't seen in some time. There was a picnic at the park, and the colors were so beautiful to see purple and white. Food was in good supply. There was no need for anybody to be hungry. There was an abundance of everything, all good. One thing was missing, the boozers. No one acted disorderly.

The banquet on Friday night was a tribute to the families. The hall was decorated in the family colors. The food was beautifully prepared. The Florida family had a video of past memories. Gifts were given to the family member who had traveled the farthest. That went to Ms. Linda Lane who had traveled from Gatenburg, Sweden. The oldest family member went to yours truly, Katie Smith. Other remembrances were made.

I hope to be around for the next reunion and able to travel. I had a really, really good time meeting with the older loved ones and greeting the new ones.

We left Orlando for home Sunday morning. We had a good drive until late Sunday afternoon. The rains came. We were on 27 North, headed for Miller County, and it was as hard as I've ever seen or ridden in. But the Lord guided us safely through the storm. We were glad to get home safely and found all well at home.

Called my son Sunday night after I got home. I miss our talks if not done. He was going to wait until he was sure I was home. I wanted to know if he was still okay. He was, and we had a good talk.

Monday dawned hot and muggy. Thank God for the good days He gives, and I will not complain about the rainy times. He knows all of our needs, and He controls this world that He made and if we don't like what he does with His world, move to whatever world you choose. I guarantee you won't be happy there either.
