U.S. Navy 'Marine 200' lands at Southwest GA Regional Airport
      On June 22 at 6 p.m. a U. S. Navy Gulfstream jet, call sign "Marine 200," landed at Southwest GA Regional airport in Albany. The VIP onboard, The Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James Amos was flying in to visit the Marine Corps Logistics Base. The aircraft commander just happened to be CDR Broc Chambers.

      Bainbridge - On Monday, more than 840 computers, including all their hardware such as keyboards and monitors, were being installed in the new Bainbridge High School. It will take a crew of about a dozen technicians from Micro Technology until the end of the week to complete the installation, and then all next week to finish programming all the computers.

Pedaling Preacher Visits Colquitt
      While many 76-year-olds have settled into retirement and spend most of their days on the golf course or lake, there are some who take a more active approach to retirement. Jimmie Tolbert is one of these people. On Monday, May 4, Rev. Tolbert started a 1,000 mile bicycle ride in a fund-raising effort for Free Will Baptist Family Ministries based in Greenville, TN.

Tighter budget starts July 1
      The new fiscal year for the state of Georgia begins July 1, and it's $2.6 billion lighter than the budget enacted at the start of the last fiscal year. The state's citizens will notice the reduction. In schools, class sizes will be allowed to go up by two students per class. Parks fees will increase 67% to $5 per day.
