Davis elected Psi State President

New Psi State (Georgia) President Jo S. Davis New Psi State (Georgia) President Jo S. Davis The Alpha Omicron Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is proud to announce that Mrs. Jo S. Davis of Colquitt, Miller County, has been elected Psi State (Georgia) president for the 2009-2011 biennium and will assume her official duties on July 1, 2009. Mrs. Dot Nickoley of Donalsonville was also elected to the position of Psi State District V director.

A formal installation ceremony was conducted during the Psi State Convention recently held at the Sea Palms Resort, St. Simons Island. Mrs. Jan Calhoun, the 2008-2010 chapter president of Colquitt participated in the traditional Presidents' Parade that preceded the installation. In addition, Mrs. Calhoun accepted the "Order of the Rose" Award for her chapter's efforts to maintain membership.

Other Alpha Omicron members attending the convention and joining in the celebration were Dr. Paula Chambers and Mrs. Betty Rentz of Bainbridge; Mrs. Sandra East, Mrs. Jo Mock, and Mrs. Suzanne Wells of Colquitt.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honor society with more than 100,000 members in 16 countries. The Society, established in 1929 in Austin, Texas, promotes the professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education. Membership is by invitation and is extended to those who have distinguished themselves as respected professionals in the educational community.

The Alpha Omicron Chapter was chartered on November 25, 1956, in Bainbridge. The chapter's membership is comprised of "key women educators" from Decatur, Early, Miller and Seminole counties.
