The Miller County Ministerial Association honored the participating seniors of Miller County High School and Southwest Georgia Academy at the annual baccalaureate service. This very special service was held at South Mount Zion Church of God Sunday evening, May 17, 2009, at 6:00 p.m.

A sanctuary filled with proud parents, grandparents, and friends anxiously awaited the Class of 2009.

Pastor Damien Salazar welcomed the class members and those attending.

Jordie King welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending the baccalaureate service honoring the students.

Baccalaureate 2009 Senior Praise Team members were Kendra Pickren, Jordie King, Joanna Richardson, Kimber Henley and Shelby Standifer.
The graduates marched into the sanctuary to the music of "Pomp and Circumstance," played by Mrs. Sara Ann Keaton.

Megan Phillips gave a stirring selection as she sang and accompanied herself on the piano.

Kendra Pickren read the scripture, Psalm 124.

A senior praise team gave three selections that pleased the crowd.

The guest speaker was then introduced by his daughter, Deana Barwick.

The Rev. Kent Barwick, pastor of Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church, gave an inspiring address to the Class of 2009 that touched the members as well as the rest of the audience. He challenged the seniors and the rest of the audience to ask, "Lord, what do you want me to do?"

Shelton Pickle gave the benediction, and the seniors marched out to "War March of the Priest" by Mendelson, also played by Mrs. Sara Ann Keaton.

The Miller County Ministerial Fellowship would like to congratulate the Class of 2009. "May the Lord be with you throughout the days of your lives. Our prayers are always with you," stated the association.

The Class of 2009 of Miller County High School will hold its graduating ceremony on Friday evening, May 22, at 8:00 p.m. at Pirate Stadium. Southwest Georgia Academy will hold its commenceto ment Thursday, May 21, at 8:00 p.m. in the Wayne
