Wilma C. Adams, 79, formerly of Albany, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Miller County Nursing Home in Colquitt.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 22, at 3 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery with the he Rev. A. B. Stroud and the Rev. Donnie Phillips officiating.

Mrs. Adams was born in Albany and lived here most of her life. She was a graduate of Albany High School in the Class of 1946. She was the last surviving charter member of the East Albany Baptist Church. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Lee J. Adams, her parents, Harvey and Alma Holdridge Chatman; her brothers, Travis Chatman and Max Chatman; her sister, Pauline Chatman McDearmid.

She is survived by her son: Terry Adams, Sasser; her daughter: Angie Adams Simmons and her husband Jeffery, Colquitt; two grandchildren: Kyle Simmons and Lacey Simmons, both of Colquitt.
