The Ameris Bank Homeowner Promotion Plan will provide financing alternatives to prospective homeowners. This plan will utilize unique programs and incentives to encourage the purchase of new and existing primary and secondary residences.

Ameris Bank will offer all of its residential builders, that have speculative real estate projects financed by Ameris Bank, the opportunity to offer their buyers a reduced rate of interest utilizing a 2/1 rate buy down option or a life of the loan rate buy down option. This will result in a greatly reduced rate either during the first couple of years or over the life of the mortgage loan. "Rates are at all time lows, and if we can offer an even greater incentive to help buyers purchase new homes, we feel as if we will have provided a valuable community service, as well as an opportunity to develop new banking relationships," added Bogan.

In addition to the rate buy down programs, Ameris Bank will also offer a Custom Jumbo Mortgage product that will be priced below the current non-conforming mortgage market. "We see a real opportunity in the jumbo market," indicated Bogan. "Homes that are above conforming amounts are not being offered reasonable financing alternatives. Given the strength of Ameris Bank's balance sheet, we can make a reasonable return while still offering competitive rates to good customers for their primary and secondary homes."
