Ms. Vada Chance Spooner, age 96, of Iron City, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, at Bainbridge Memorial Manor in Bainbridge.
Funeral services for Ms. Spooner were held on Wednesday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with interment in Friendship Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Spooner was born in Donalsonville on April 3, 1912, to the late William Joseph and Annie Bentley Chance. She worked for many years as a seamstress before retiring. Ms. Spooner was a member of Iron City Methodist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Jane Lee and her husband Charles of Cumming, Nan Floyd and her husband Calvin of Cusseta, and Susie Shingler and her husband Marty of Donalsonville; two daughtersin law, Eunice Spooner of Athens and MariJane Scarborough of Iron City; a sister-in-law, Mabel E. Chance of Donalsonville; 17 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Ms. Spooner was preceded in death by a daughter, Clarice Tyler, and two sons, Ray Spooner and Albert Spooner.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
