How many technicians does it take to screw in a bulb?

Things are looking up in Colquitt as a new cell phone tower went up Saturday, January 24. It was raised near the new city sewer facility being constructed in Spring Creek Park area.

The answer to the question: It takes three men or women. As the 300 foot-plus crane lifted the sections, three technicians secured the section and climbed all the way to the very top to attach the antennas to the 300 foot tall free standing tower.

Applications are being taken for a bulb changer to replace the bulb on the top of the tower.

Unemployment rate in Georgia at 26-year high

The unemployment rate rose to 8.1% in December, the highest level recorded in 26 years. Currently, 393,168 unemployed Georgians are looking for work, with 40% of those people drawing unemployment insurance benefits.

Over the last year, the number of payroll jobs decreased 121,800 or 2.9 percent. Jobs were lost in manufacturing, construction, and trade, along with professional and business services, including temporary employment agencies. President Obama earns sales award

Washington, DC - President Barack Obama has been named "Gun Salesman of the Year" by The Outdoor Wire, an Internet news service. "Manufacturers are months behind on orders…," said Jim Shepherd, publisher. "Buyers we've surveyed across the country seem to have a single explanation for their rush to purchase firearms - Obama."
