Overturned vehicle injures one
Troopers investigate accident sight after victim is removed. Miller County E911 was called Monday morning, January 26, to report a vehicle had overturned on SR 39, near Bridges Road just north of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church.
According to the accident report, Jennifer Nicole Hatcher, 30, of 4500 Killarney Road, Jakin, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, north on GA Highway 39. The vehicle veered off the road on the east shoulder, and the driver over-corrected the vehicle. The vehicle then traveled across the center line to the west shoulder, rolling the vehicle one revolution off the roadway. It then came to an uncontrolled rest off the west shoulder of GA Highway 39.
When the call went out, it went to Seminole County, who sent its EMS unit. Miller County E911 dispatched Sheriff deputies, an EMS unit and fire and rescue to the scene since the accident was in Miller County.
The driver was taken to Seminole County Hospital for treatment of visible injuries.
The incident report indicated that the driver was wearing a lap and shoulder belt and was not ejected.
State Trooper C. L Hall of the Georgia State Patrol of Colquitt was the investigating officer.
Damage was extensive, and the vehicle was removed from the scene by a wrecker service.
The driver was cited for failure to maintain lane.
The condition of the driver was unknown at the time this report was written.
