Mr. Walter Charles Bryant, age 80, of Colquitt died Wednesday, January 7, 2009.

Mr. Bryant was born April 8, 1928, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Flew Ellen Bryant in Blakely. He served in the United States Army where he received a number of medals including the Korean Service Medal, U.S. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and three Bronze Stars.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 12, at Christ Church in Early County with Rev. Archie Crews officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were his sons and grandsons.

Survivors include seven children, Charles Bryant, Bainbridge, Barbara (John) Hutchins, Darrell Bryant (Annie D. Bell), DeSantis Bryant (Stacy Talton), Colquitt, Timothy (Caroline Easte rwood) Arlington, Reginald Burney, Stockbridge, Tyrone (Michelle) Burney, Lawton, OK; sisters, Vera Wright, Sally Holmes, Blakely, Gladys Crawford, Lucinda Kitchens, New Jersey; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Williams' Morturary was in charge of arrangements.
